Oh boy. So you've gone through those decisions. It's pretty tough. And on the other side...congratulations!

Actually, when I first moved in, I was completely prepared to end the relationship. I had even dated 3 other individuals during the first several months (He knew about them, believe me, it was horrible to see that man go through what he had to go through watching that). However, I made up my mind...he was the one I wanted and our relationship just grew even that much closer. His kids even refer to me as "the stunt wife".

Would it be difficult to leave? Absolutely. Not only do I enjoy everything we do and share together, but we lean on each other tremendously, about each other, the relationships in the house, everything. Sometimes there are things that set us off, make us angry and jealous, but at least he and I talk about it openly and work through it together. Not to mention that I have an apartment to die for that would be insanely difficult to give up!

What the real issue has come to be, is that I've replaced the role of the wife and mother, while his wife has taken the role of the "elderly" mother that needs to be taken care of.

But, Gigiola, as with everything, protecting myself comes first. Quite honestly, I hope to marry him one day, but you never know!
