The Flower of my Love
by Bobina

growing, Growing, GROWING,
My love for you blooms from my chest
As a beautiful flower, whose roots wrap firmly
Around my heart
Taking nourishment from my soul
And drinking in your essence.
Every part of me longs for you
As my tendrils seek to wrap around your being.
The mere sound of your voice
Rings music throughout me.
And the touch of your lips
Is sweeter than the honey from my petals.

But all beauty has its price.
I flourish, basking in your sunlight
You bring your radiance into my life
But the days between are long and dark.
Brief glimpses of your sun
Cannot sustain the flower from withering
As the roots squeeze my heart
And my parched soul cries out for you
“When will the endless night be over?”
But there is no answer
This night has no real end
So, on the flower waits for the sun.
Knowing that it cannot change what is.
Hopelessly
Helplessly
Growing.
