(to her lost love DRW)
by Anna Wilson

I sit here thinking of you and letting go moment by moment
I try to forget the kisses we shared in passion and tenderness
I close my eyes to the vision of your face and your beauty
Yet you're all I see, awake, asleep, aware, unaware
I move about and do what I must, laughing a times with ease
But nothing erases the void that grows inside where your love once was
I cannot chase a shadow in front of me nor keep it in one place
So I watch it go and change before me knowing sometimes shadows return
You were and always will be the one to whom I gave my heart and soul
The one I poured what I had and hadn't before you without hesitation
I don't regret the love we shared the friendship that grew effortlessly
I only regret not holding you once more before you left and smiling rather than crying
You'll never be someone who's forgotten - your too incredible to forget
I'll always know that I gave my best and thought nothing of it
And believe you did what you had to without ever meaning to hurt another
You're too gentle and tender and kind hearted to do ill to another
And though I bleed inside at times at other times I smile having loved you but for awhile
I know one day a breeze will blow and I'll feel your love still gently pass by
And in the coldest of a winter day your warmth will still surround me
You are my soulmate wherever you may be and to pray for you is all that's left for me
I'll have faith in what I once believed ... and hold fast to thoughts of what's meant to be
Until that day I pray for you happiness and a peace found only within yourself
And that no matter where your road leads, no matter which way you look
You'll feel my love surrounding you and holding you closer than your breath
And a soft, sweet voice whispering in your ear "you're always loved my precious one"
