Look at You
by Jan Deason

Look at you, you're fifty-two
Time has been so good to you.
Lucky me to have found in you
The sweetest heart I ever knew.

You only want good things for me
But you really can't define
The thing that would make me happiest
Would be to make you mine.

Your life is a lot more complicated
Than mine will ever be.
You've been with her for thirty years
And only one with me.

But if you had just one wish left
It would be enough for me
To know if you could have one thing
It would be to be with me.

It's harder for me than you know
To love someone so much
And be wise enough to know my dream
May be something I can't touch..

Life is shorter than we think
We only get one chance
To be everything that's in our hearts
Before the final dance.

I'm thirty-nine, you're fifty-two
I never dreamed till I found you.
The thing I want the most in life
I could never ask of you.
